FAQ | Yunnan Ancient Tree Tea
For Singapore and overseas buyers, the key questions before ordering are simple: authenticity, batch, price, shipping, duties, payment, returns, storage and whether the tea fits your purpose.
1. Is your Yunnan ancient tree tea authentic?
We focus on selected Yunnan tea origins, including Pu-erh, Bingdao, Laobanzhang, Mansong, Jingmai, Xigui and Dianhong black tea references. For each product, we try to present clear information about origin, year, process, batch and storage condition. We do not use exaggerated claims such as miracle tea or medical benefits. For higher-value batches, we can provide product photos, brewing videos, dry-leaf details, liquor appearance, packaging condition and available traceability documents.
2. How can I judge whether ancient tree tea is real?
Packaging and famous village names are not enough. Serious buyers should look at the leaf shape, clean tea liquor, natural aroma, texture, aftertaste, batch information and whether the price is realistic. Good tea does not need aggressive claims. It should show stable quality through repeated brewing and careful tasting.
3. Will every batch taste exactly the same?
No. Yunnan tea is an agricultural product. Year, season, mountain area, weather, picking standard, processing and storage all affect the final taste. Even tea from the same village may vary between batches. If you are reordering a tea you liked before, please contact us first to confirm whether the current stock is from the same batch or a comparable batch.
4. Why do prices vary so much?
Ancient tree tea prices are influenced by origin scarcity, available raw material, picking season, grade, processing skill, storage age, packaging and market demand. Ordinary Yunnan tea, famous mountain tea and core-village ancient tree tea can sit in very different price ranges. We recommend choosing by purpose, budget and drinking preference, not price alone.
5. Is your tea suitable for collection?
Some raw Pu-erh and well-made ripe Pu-erh can be suitable for long-term storage, but not every tea is a collector tea. A collectable tea usually needs stable material, clean processing, active tea base, good storage and room for future transformation. First-time buyers may want to begin with drinking-oriented tea before buying larger quantities for storage.
6. Who is Yunnan ancient tree tea suitable for?
It is suitable for buyers who enjoy Chinese tea culture, daily tea drinkers who value texture, business hosts, premium gift buyers, tea houses and private collectors. Beginners may prefer smoother options such as Jingmai, Dianhong, ripe Pu-erh or lightly aged raw Pu-erh. More experienced drinkers may explore Bingdao, Laobanzhang, Mansong and Xigui style teas.
7. I do not know tea well. How should I choose?
Start with purpose. For daily drinking, choose stable and approachable tea. For business hosting, choose clean liquor, good aroma and elegant presentation. For gifting, choose clear origin story and gift-ready packaging. For collection, focus on batch clarity, storage and raw material. For a first trial, ask whether a smaller sample or tasting size is available.
8. Can I buy samples first?
For selected higher-value teas, small tasting portions or samples may be available. Sample availability depends on current stock and batch quantity. If you are interested in a specific product, contact us first to confirm whether tasting portions are available.
9. Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We can discuss suitable shipping options based on your country or region. Common options may include international courier, air parcel, dedicated logistics lines or your appointed forwarder. Shipping cost, delivery time and clearance requirements vary by destination.
10. How long does shipping usually take?
Delivery time depends on destination, logistics channel and customs clearance. As a general reference: Asia may take about 5-12 working days, Europe and North America about 7-20 working days, and the Middle East or other regions about 10-25 working days. Actual timing may be affected by holidays, customs inspection, weather and flight schedules.
11. Will I need to pay import duties or taxes?
Possibly. Destination countries may have different rules for tea imports, food products, GST/VAT, customs duties and clearance fees. Product prices normally exclude shipping, import duties and destination taxes unless clearly stated. If such charges apply, they are usually the responsibility of the recipient under local regulations.
12. Can you ship to Singapore, the US, Canada, Australia and Europe?
In many cases, yes, but final feasibility depends on the destination country, customs policy and available logistics channel. Tea is a food-related product, so import requirements may differ by country. We can help choose a practical shipping route, but we cannot guarantee unconditional customs clearance in every jurisdiction.
13. What payment methods do you support?
Available payment methods depend on the order and checkout arrangement. Common options may include credit card, PayPal, bank transfer, Wise, Alipay, WeChat Pay or other mutually confirmed methods. Larger orders, custom gift packaging or wholesale reservations usually require payment before stock preparation and dispatch.
14. Can I cancel after placing an order?
If the order has not been dispatched, you may contact us to request cancellation. If the order has already shipped, it cannot usually be cancelled directly. Custom packaging, gift box customization, bulk orders or specially reserved batches are normally not eligible for casual cancellation after payment confirmation.
15. Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Tea is a food product. For food safety reasons, opened, brewed or resale-affected products are generally not eligible for casual return. Please contact us if the wrong product was shipped, the parcel was seriously damaged in transit, the product clearly does not match the order, or the product remains unopened and meets return conditions. Please keep the outer packaging, shipping label, product photos and unboxing video if an issue occurs.
16. How should I store the tea after receiving it?
Store tea in a dry, ventilated, shaded and odour-free place with stable temperature. Pu-erh can benefit from suitable airflow, but it should be protected from humidity, direct sunlight and foreign smells. Dianhong and green tea are better kept sealed, and some teas may benefit from cooler storage.
17. Does ancient tree tea expire?
It depends on the tea type. Pu-erh can age and transform under suitable storage conditions. Dianhong black tea and green tea are usually better enjoyed within a shorter period to preserve aroma and freshness. Store each tea according to its category and drink it during its best taste window.
18. Does ancient tree tea have health benefits?
Tea is a daily beverage, not medicine. We present Yunnan tea for its aroma, taste, cultural value, hosting use and gifting value. We do not promote medical claims and do not recommend using tea as a substitute for professional medical advice. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, caffeine-sensitive, sleep-sensitive or taking medication, drink moderately and seek professional advice if needed.
19. Can I drink Pu-erh tea at night?
It depends on your caffeine sensitivity. Tea contains caffeine, and some people may find evening tea affects sleep. Ripe Pu-erh, older tea and lighter brewing may feel gentler for some drinkers, but you should adjust according to your own body response.
20. How do I contact you for a tea recommendation?
Tell us whether the tea is for personal drinking, gifting, business hosting or collection. It also helps to share your budget, taste preference, whether you have tried Pu-erh before, destination country and whether you need gift packaging. We can then narrow the options and recommend a more suitable tea.
